Value
Best value is a statutory requirement. It ensures that every service that a council delivers is appropriate to and best meets the needs and expectations of its customers and is done so at a cost that is fair and competitive.
The terminology used in connection with best value is the four C's and stands for :
- Challenging the status quo
- Consulting customers and users
- Comparing with other providers and
- Competition that ensures costs are fair
Put basically, best value is just good management practice.
