Decision making (Cabinet and Committee information)
Full Cabinet : Portfolio / Terms of Reference
The individual cabinet member may, in relation to their area of delegated responsibility :
- Determine matters within the Council’s policy frameworks in relation to the specific functions;
- Agree Council policies and strategies not reserved to Council or Cabinet;
- Provide strategic direction to the Cabinet in relation to all Council functions (except those reserved to Council, the Standards Committee, the Licensing Committee, the Development Control Committee and the Constitution and Audit Committee) and report to the Cabinet on their performance within the framework set;
- Commission, receive, consider and make decisions on reports received from Overview and Scrutiny and statutory officers;
- Commission and receive input from Overview and Scrutiny in relation to policy development;
- Determine policy and issues in relation to joint working and partnership working with local authorities, organisations, companies or similar bodies within their area of responsibility;
- Monitor and give direction on the performance of all services within their terms of reference.
Onward limits on delegations
Delegations to the Chief Executive, Strategic Directors, Executive Heads of Service and any limitations imposed are set out in the scheme of delegations to officers.
