Advisory functions
- To make recommendations to Council, where such is considered desirable.
- To make recommendations to the Cabinet:
- In relation to matters of planning policy reserved to the Cabinet;
- Where such is considered desirable.
- To advise the Cabinet on any matters relating to claims and payments or statutory compensation arising from decisions on planning matters.
Delegated functions
The following delegated functions are to be exercised in accordance with the Council’s policies and strategies:
- All functions relating to:
- Development Control;
- Building Control;
- All functions relating to trees and hedgerows as specified in Section I of Schedule 1 to the Local Authorities (Functions and Responsibilities) (England) Regulations 2000 (as amended).

Delegations to the Chief Executive, Strategic Directors, Executive Heads of Service and any limitations imposed are set out in the scheme of delegations to officers.
