Joint Staff Committee : Terms of Reference
Membership :
- 3 Councillors from Adur District Council (politically balanced); and
- 3 Councillors from Worthing Borough Council (politically balanced).
Quorum : 4 members, 2 from each council
Regularity of meetings : At least 1 per year
Advisory Functions
Delegated Functions
In respect of staff employed in posts serving the Councils jointly:
- To be the final appeal, within the Councils, in all policies relating to staff ,other than those matters under the remit of the Joint Senior Staff Committee, including grievance and disciplinary matters.
- To determine terms and conditions matters in respect of staff other than those referred to in the Joint Senior Staff Committee, where these are to be dealt with by Members.
Onward Limits on Delegations
Delegations to the Chief Executive, Strategic Directors, Executive Heads of Service and any limitations imposed are set out in the scheme of delegations to officers.
