Advisory Functions
1. To make recommendations to Council, where such is considered desirable.
2. To make recommendations to the Policy and Strategy Committee :
(a) In relation to matters of policy and strategic direction reserved to the Policy and Strategy Committee;
(b) Where such is considered desirable.
Delegated Functions
The following delegated functions are to be exercised in accordance with the Council’s policies and strategies:
1. To exercise the Council’s power and duties in respect of the provision of public transport, parking, street scene and use of the highway;
2. To exercise the Council’s power and duties in respect to the collection and disposal of waste;
3. To exercise the Council’s power and duties as the Coastal Protection Authority;
4. To exercise the Council’s power and duties in respect of making grants other than housing grants;
5. To exercise the Council’s power and duties in respect of leisure development, community development and welfare;
6. To determine matters in relation to Adur Youth Council
7. To determine matters in relation to joint working and partnership working with local authorities, organisations, companies or similar bodies in connection with matters within the committee’s terms of reference;
8. To monitor and give direction on the performance of all services within its terms of reference.

Delegations to Corporate Directors and any limitations imposed are set out in the scheme of delegations to officers.
