Forward Plan of key decisions
The Forward Plan sets out the details of all matters which are likely to be the subject of key decisions, and other major decisions, at Adur District Council in the following four months.
A key decision shall be an executive decision which is likely to :
- result in the Council incurring expenditure which is, or the making of savings which are, significant, having regard to the Council’s budget for the service or function to which the decision relates; or
- be significant in terms of its effects on communities living or working in an area comprising one ward in the District; or
- be significant in terms of its effects on communities living or working in an area comprising two or more wards in the District.
The Council has adopted the following thresholds in relation to defining key decisions :
- Capital schemes, within the approved Capital Programme, in excess of £100,000;
- the letting / re-letting of contracts of a value of £50,000 or more over the period of the contract, where provision has been made in the approved revenue budget;
- expenditure in addition to the approved budget, requiring virement or a supplementary estimate in excess of £20,000.
In accordance with the Council’s Constitution, key decisions can be taken by the Council, the Cabinet or individual Cabinet Members or delegated to officers. The Members of the Cabinet are :
- Councillor Neil Parkin, Leader
- Councillor Keith Dollemore, Cabinet Member for Clean and Green Environment
- Councillor David Simmons, Cabinet Member for Health, Safety and Wellbeing
- Councillor Julie Searle, Cabinet Member for Improved Customer Services
- Councillor Jim Funnell, Cabinet Member for Regeneration
- Councillor Angus Dunn, Cabinet Member for Resources
