RISE - Adur District
(formerly the Women’s Refuge Project)

RISE logoRISE has provided a specialist service to women and children within the Adur district for the past six years. We also have services (including refuge) in Brighton & Hove and North Sussex.

Domestic abuse can include constant criticism, emotional abuse, control of contact with family and friends, control of money, violence, threats and intimidation. Children are affected by the impact of witnessing domestic abuse and living within an abusive home environment. Domestic abuse can occur in a relationship with a partner, ex-partner, family member or carer.

If this is happening to you or someone you know, specialist staff can provide confidential information, advice and support by telephone, through one to one appointments or at our drop in service. Our offices are fully accessible to people using wheelchairs and we are able to offer home visits or meet in a community location if you are prevented from attending due to additional needs or exceptional circumstances.

Our staff can help with :

  • Personal safety and risk issues including safety planning
  • Housing and refuge accommodation
  • Welfare benefits and financial issues
  • Support with civil and criminal proceedings including access to an initial free half hour appointment with a local solicitor
  • Access to an independent low cost counsellor
  • Emotional support
  • Signposting for men affected by emotional abuse
  • Signposting and advice re children’s services

If you want to contact us :

RISE staff can be contacted Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm on 01273 263414. Please leave a message if we cannot answer immediately and we will return your call. Our drop in service takes place every Tuesday between 10am and 12pm. Please call for details.
