Community alarm scheme
The community alarm scheme enables local residents who are elderly, disabled,
or vulnerable, to live independently in the community. The service provides
access to a 24 hour emergency service at the touch of a button.
Users receive regular maintenance visits, a fault repair service, and advice on benefits and other services available in the community, both private and voluntary.

If you want to apply for an alarm please complete the form below with the details of who the alarm is for and who the nominated keyholders and contacts are. A visit will then be arranged to assess your situation and to complete a contract (see the information pack above for more details) and install an alarm.
At the moment if an alarm call is unclear, or if there is no response and a keyholder is not available, the control centre, which is in Chichester, would contact the police. They do respond, but not as a priority, as the call could have been made by accident.
An ambulance is not called by the control centre unless they are sure there's a medical emergency.
A local mobile response officer is also available 24 hours a day, who will visit homes following an alarm call where the control centre operator is unclear what has happened. This addition to the scheme will mean help reaching people much quicker. The service costs users an extra £3 a week.
For more information please contact the Community Alarm Team.
For the cost of this service please see the current 'Fees and Charges for Council Services' booklet.
