Adur Community Alarm and Telecare Service

Community alarm scheme leafletThe Community Alarm and Telecare Service enables older, disabled and vulnerable people to get emergency help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at the touch of a button.

The alarm button is worn as a pendant or on the wrist, making it easy to summon help. Our customers find that it gives them the peace of mind and security to continue living independently in their own homes.

To work alongside the basic alarm, other sensors are available, such as the automatic smoke detector, the extreme heat sensor, and carbon monoxide and flood detectors, all of which raise an alarm with the control centre.

Getting an alarm fitted couldn't be easier. If you have a telephone line and a power point, people to act as key holders who can be contacted in an emergency, or a keysafe, then you are ready to go. Even if you do not have a landline telephone we may still be able to install an alarm unit for you.

As a community alarm customer you will receive regular maintenance visits and a fault repair service. You will also get advice on benefits and other services available. Please click on the Community alarm information pack below for more advice and information.

If you would like to apply for an alarm please complete the form below with the details of whom the alarm is for and names of the nominated key holders and contacts. A member of the team will then visit to assess your situation, complete the contract with you and install the alarm equipment.

In addition to the alarm, we also provide a Mobile Response service. The Mobile Response Officer is available to deal with a 'no response' call made from your community alarm 24 hours a day. If your key holder is not available and the control centre operator is unsure whether you have made an emergency call for medical reasons, or accidentally, because you are not answering, the Mobile Response Officer will call at your home to assess the situation and see if you are alright.
