Community support
Community associations and services
There are five local, independent community associations in the district. They serve as a focus for many activities of interest to people of all ages. These associations, which are supported by Adur Council, run community centres that provide venues for various group meetings. Everyone is welcome to call in to find out more about what is happening in their area.

Shoreham Centre in Pond Road last October, manager Kelly Hagan wanted
everyone to know that it is anticipated the re-build works to the Main
Hall would be complete and ready to re-open to the public by 19th July
2008. The Main Hall and three upstairs rooms had to be totally rebuilt
and ROK Construction and their associated sub-contractors have been working
flat out since the removal of the asbestos last year. We have had to completely
re-build the stage, bar, storage rooms and projection room. New electrics
have been fitted as well as new central heating and fire alarm systems.
The Contractors have managed to salvage part of the wooden sprung dance floor and the rest of the floor is being renewed. This has been a huge task, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Adur District Council for their continued support, ROK Construction for their hard work and long hours and all our customers and friends for their good wishes and support.
Assistant Manager Karly Davis went on to say "we are looking forward to a very full itinerary such as our regular daily playgroups, over-sixties club, Art and Theatre Groups, weekly markets and monthly disco/dances. We are also excited to welcome back our Rock 'n' Roll club, Postcard Collectors Fair, Brighton and Hove Bird Club, Blood Donations, Adult Education and our French Students."
If anyone has any queries about the rebuild contract or the re-opening of the Hall,or any comments, questions or suggestions please feel free to contact Kelly Hagan or Karly Davis anytime on 07961 851 690. They would welcome your call. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
