Fishersgate Healthy Living Centre
Adur District Council has been awarded £174,702 from the Big Lottery
to establish a Healthy Living Centre in Fishersgate. Adur District Council
has in addition committed £99,000 towards the project.
The Healthy Living Centre will tackle health in its broadest sense. Not just focusing on poor health but promoting healthy lifestyles for all ages.
The centre will be based in St. Peter's Church on Gardner Road. The works to convert the church are due to start in May 2008.
The centre will provide a community café with access to the internet,
health visitor services, adult education classes, Job Centre Plus facilities,
Citizen Advice Bureau services and more.
The project is a partnership venture with West Sussex County Council and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
