You may choose one of the following :
- English National Bus Pass
Free local bus travel throughout England.
Age related bus passes - Travel between 9:30am and 11pm Monday to Friday and anytime weekends and bank holidays.
Disability related bus passes - Travel at anytime if journey starts within West Sussex, otherwise the same as for age related passes.
The pass is free.

For people who are unable to use public transport on their own, there is the additional option below :
- English National Companion Bus Pass
Free local bus travel throughout England.
Travel at anytime if journey starts within West Sussex, otherwise the same as for age related passes.
The pass holder must travel with a companion.
The companion will also travel free if the journey starts in West Sussex.
The pass is free.

English National Bus Pass
The English National Bus pass will allow you to enjoy free off-peak travel
on local buses anywhere in England. - Off-peak hours are 9.30am until 11pm Monday to Friday and all day weekends and bank holidays.
- Disabled bus passes can be used at anytime if journey starts within West Sussex, otherwise the same as for age related passes.
- The definition of a 'local' bus will be self evident in most cases and includes longer distance buses. If in doubt, pass holders can check with the service operator.
- The pass cannot be used:
- Where most seats can be reserved, like coaches.
- That run for less than 6 weeks, like shuttle buses to special events.
- For tourists, like open-top bus tours, or services on vehicles of historical interest. That are running instead of a train - ‘rail replacement’ services.
- Where the fare includes a special amenity element, like Park and Ride, where the full cost is paid at the car park or the bus fare is significantly higher in relation to the general level of fare for a comparable journey, like the N700.
- The pass also cannot be used to purchase season, excursion or similar tickets.

Exchange order for a Senior Citizens Railcard
The Senior Citizens Railcard offers one third discount on most Standard
and First Class rail fares throughout Britain.- The exchange order is only valid for the purchase of a Senior Citizens Railcard by the person to whom it is issued. It is not transferable and cannot be used towards the purchase of any other form of train concession.
- There are some restrictions on purchasing discounted tickets for travel on weekdays during the morning rush hour (peak time) in the London and the South East area. For further information and a map of the London and South East area visit the FAQ pages at www.senior-railcard.co.uk , ask at a ticket office or call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50, or see the National Rail Enquiries website (www.nationalrail.co.uk).
- Some tickets are subject to availability and time/train restrictions and to avoid any confusion it is best to check with the rail operator before booking.
The Senior Railcard can also provide discounts on the following :
- Gatwick Express, Stansted Express, Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect services.
- London Zones 1-6 Off-Peak Day Travelcard (subject to a minimum fare).
- Oyster (Transport for London) - now you can get your railcard discount loaded on to your Oyster card to save 1/3 on the Off-Peak daily cap on pay as you go.
- Through tickets for travel on the Railair Link between Reading and Heathrow Airport.
- PLUSBUS - unlimited bus travel at your origin/destination station with participating operators. Visit www.plusbus.info for more details.
- Some rail/sea journeys with Wightlink, Red Funnel Ferries and Stena Line.

How do I obtain the Railcard?
- When you receive the rail exchange order from us, we will also send you an application form for the Railcard which you will need to complete. This should be taken to a staffed rail ticket office, together with the exchange order and proofs of your entitlement (for example birth certificate, passport, driving licence). A photograph is not required.
Please ensure that you retain the leaflet receipt when you obtain your Railcard.

These services offer door to door transport for people who are unable or
who have considerable difficulty using public transport, because of infirmity

Vouchers cannot be used for bus and train travel, with taxi companies not licensed by Adur council nor on transport services provided by anyone other than those providers listed above.
How do I use the vouchers?
Each voucher is valid for £1 in part payment towards the cost of
your fare. Change is not normally given, so, for example, if your fare is £4.30p,
you can use 4 x £1 vouchers plus 30p in cash. Travel vouchers are issued
to you solely for transport use - please do not ask drivers to exchange
vouchers for cash or other services.
Travel vouchers are valid for one year, ie. up to the stamped expiry date. They must not be used after the expiry date. Unused or expired vouchers are the property of the council and should be returned to us. We are not able to exchange obsolete vouchers, nor can lost vouchers be replaced.

Exchange order for a Disabled Persons Railcard
The Disabled Persons Railcard allows you - and an adult companion with
you - to get 1/3 off most Standard and First Class fares throughout Great
Britain.- There is an option to purchase a 3 year Disabled Persons Railcard (at a cost of £54) and you can put your exchange order (worth £20) towards this. Should you decide to do so, you will still be entitled to claim an alternative concession from us annually and we will send you a renewal letter in 12 months time.
- The disability eligibility criteria to qualify for a Disabled Persons Railcard are different to those that apply for either a bus pass or taxi vouchers as issued by Adur District Council and you should check, before applying to us for an exchange order, that you meet those criteria.
- Some tickets are subject to availability and time/train restrictions and to avoid any confusion it is best to check with the rail operator before booking.

How do I obtain the Railcard?
If you are choosing the Disabled Persons rail card, you should ask us for the additional application form for the rail company. You should read this carefully as the rail companies eligibility criteria is more restricted than that required under our scheme. When you receive this, you should complete your name, address, sign and date it only and return it with the Concessionary Travel Scheme application form. We will send the completed rail company application form and exchange order from us, together with a copy of your proof of eligibility to the rail company, who will then send your Disabled Persons Railcard directly to you.

English National Companion Bus Pass
This is a single bus pass issued to the holder who is unable to travel
by themselves and entitles them to travel accompanied by a companion.- You cannot use this pass without a companion.
- The companion does not have to be specifically named and therefore does not have to be the same person on each journey.
- Providing free off-peak local bus travel anytime if journey starts within West Sussex, otherwise the same as for age related passes throughout England.
- • Your companion will also be able to travel free but only on journeys that start within the areas of West Sussex County Council. On journeys that start outside of these this areas, they will need to pay the appropriate fare (unless they have their own pass).
- If at a future time your situation improves and you are able to travel without a companion, please contact us as we can change the pass to one not requiring a companion.
- The definition of a 'local' bus will be self evident in most cases and includes longer distance buses. If in doubt, pass holders can check with the service operator.
- The pass cannot be used:

If you would like to apply for a companion pass, we will require proof of eligibility. Your consultant/specialist can certify your eligibility by completing a form that can be downloaded below or obtained by contacting us on (01273) 263399. You will need to complete the declaration of authority section before passing this to your consultant/specialist.
