Economic Recovery Consultation
The United Kingdom has now been in a recession for over a year. To help revive and regenerate the local economies, Adur District and Worthing Borough Councils are undertaking a joint scrutiny review on economic recovery in both Council areas.
As part of this review a small Working Group comprising six Council Members (three from Adur Council and three from Worthing) is currently investigating how the Councils are already supporting businesses, the community and housing towards economic recovery and how the Councils can further support businesses and housing towards economic recovery. The Working Group aims to present its findings to both Councils in March 2010.
The Working Group is keen to gather as many views as possible from people, businesses and organizations in both Council areas to assess what is being done and what can be done to assist the communities in economic recovery. Your views are very important to the Councils and I would be grateful if you could take the time to let the Councils have your views to help them tackle this very important issue.
Please can you forward any views that you have on this issue by Monday 4 January 2010 at 12 Noon by contacting :
- Mark Lowe, Corporate Policy Officer (Scrutiny), on 01903 221009
or send the Corporate Policy Officer (Scrutiny) an e-mail
You can also post comments on an on-line joint economic recovery consultation discussion forum hosted on the Worthing BC website (www.worthing.gov.uk/do-it-online/consultations/economicrecovery/).
The Working Group is also keen to speak directly with people about how the Councils can improve economic recovery. If you would be interested in attending a meeting of the Working Group to provide more information please let Mark Lowe know.
Thank you
