About Councillor Jim Funnell

My interests :

I have always had a keen interest in the local community, in particular in youth issues, problems of the elderly and the environment. It is important that the area we live in is safe for people to carry on their every day lives without fear of being intruded upon. I have always lived in the area, firstly in Fishersgate until I was a teenager and now I reside in Southwick. I feel very fortunate to live close to the sea and the South Downs.

When and why I have become a Councillor :

I became a Councillor in the year 2000. My main reason for doing so was to make improvements locally.

When can you meet me?

You can call me and if I am unable to take your call please leave me a message on my answer phone and I will get back to you. I can be e-mailed at any time.

My current role on the Council :

At the Annual General meeting of the Council on 20 May 2008 the Council commenced the change of the Political Management Structure from the Committee system to the Cabinet and Leader system. I have been chosen to be the Cabinet member for Regeneration and also to be a member of the Joint Delivery Committee, the Joint Strategic Committee and the Shoreham Harbour Regeneration Joint Committee.
