About Councillor Ben Stride :

My interests/ hobbies :

I have only recently been elected onto the Council. I live with my wife on Shoreham Beach and am a highway engineer by profession. In my spare time I am restoring a classic car.

When and why I have become a councillor :

I became a Councillor because I enjoy local politics and like the fact that local people really can work towards improving where they live.

When can you meet me?

Feel free to contact me either by phone, e-mail or letter. If I’m not in leave a message and I will return your call. If you see me out and about why not stop for a chat?

What would I like to achieve as your Councillor?

I want to make Shoreham Beach an even greater place for people to live, firstly by maintaining the standards of service that residents have a right to expect and then, if possible, I will try to work to improve both services and the environment for the benefit of all.

What am I doing on the Council?

I am very interested in planning and the built environment and am on Development Control Committee. I am also currently serving on the Licensing Committee, the joint Staff Committee and the Standards Committee.
