About Councillor Brian Boggis

My interests/ hobbies :

I was elected to Adur District Council for the first time in June 2004, although I had previously served on Havant District Council, whilst resident in that area. I have always taken an active interest in community affairs and also serve as a Governor on the board of a local school. I run my own small business in the area and in doing so, have the opportunity to meet many local residents and discuss with them their concerns and aspirations for our neighbourhood.

When and why I have become a councillor :

I have always been interested in the local community, taking the view that if you are not prepared to make the effort yourself, you’ve no right to ask others! However, I have to confess that being a councillor becomes absorbing and having the opportunity to have at least some influence in the way our community develops can be very satisfying.

When can you meet me?

I can be e-mailed at any time. If you call by phone and I am not available, you can leave a message, with your number and I will return your call.

What would I like to achieve as your councillor :

I hope that during my term as a councillor, I shall be able to make a positive contribution to improving the quality of life enjoyed by the residents of the District. We live in a beautiful part of the country and it is important that we balance properly the need to develop and prosper the community with the responsibility of ensuring this is not spolit.

My current role on the Council :

I am pleased to have been appointed as Chairperson of the Licensing Committee and as a member of the Development Control Committee and the Joint Staff Committee.
