Flooding in Adur
Flood bags (FloodSax®)
Several areas of the Adur district may be at risk from flooding under certain weather and tide conditions. Adur Council is offering residents and local businesses a chance to buy new technology FloodSax® to help them protect their homes in a flood emergency. Over one quarter of the district is at risk of flooding. Floods cause devastating damage to people's lives and homes as seen so often in the news.
The council has tried and tested the FloodSax® and has invested in some to protect its own property and deal with flooding emergencies. They can be stored and packed away and brought out should disaster strike. When they are immersed in water they inflate and act as a barrier to prevent water entering buildings.
