Financial Procedure Rules and Contract Procedure Rules
The council agreed an updated set of Financial Procedure rules and Contract Procedure Rules at its meeting on 6 January 2005. These are included in Part 4 of Adur District Council's Constitution.
The Financial Procedure Rules outline the principles of financial administration which must be operated by all Officers and Members of the Council including accounting procedures, audit requirements and the control of resources.
The purpose of the Contract Procedure Rules is to ensure that the council fulfils its responsibilities to the council tax and ratepayer and to potential contractors. These responsibilities are to achieve the contract that provides best value for the council and to ensure that there is transparency, fairness and propriety in the way in which contracts are let.
