- Bandwidth : Bandwidth refers to how much data is transmitted over a given period of time. For digital devices, bandwidth is measured in bits per second (bps - see below). For analogue devices, bandwidth is measured in Hertz (Hz).

- Beacon Councils : The best performing local government councils selected by the government that set the pace for change and encourage the rest to modernise.
- BECTA : British Educational Communications and Technology Agency
- Best Value : A duty for local government to deliver services to clear standards - covering both cost and quality by the most effective, economic and efficient means. Performance indicators measure the achievement of the standards. The purpose is to seek means of achieving continuous improvement in service delivery.

that customers should be able to access services electronically or, if not,
that the call centre they speak to can log events 'in a system there and
then'. (In Adur we have interpreted this generally to mean that services
should be available 24/7 from the website.) Adur achieved 98% against this
target by December 31st 2005.
