Big Lottery Fund - Awards for All
Have you heard about the changes to the Awards for All programme?
For the last ten years Big Lottery Fund have run Awards for All as a joint programme with the other three main distributors of Lottery money. From 1 April 2009 each distributor will now run its own small grants programme. As a result, the Big Lottery Fund has launched a new-look Awards for All programme.
Visit the new Awards for All website to get details about the new programme and to get an application form.
The new scheme will be the Fund’s biggest ever commitment to a small grant scheme supporting community projects, offering a more easily accessible programme with even quicker decision times.
Grants between £300 and £10,000 are available to grassroots groups in the community and voluntary sector, health bodies, schools and parish or town councils.
To find out if the programme is right for you or to get an application pack please visit the Awards for All website:
Big Lottery Fund - Reaching Communities
Reaching Communities funds projects that help people and communities who are most in need, and can really make a difference. Projects can be new or existing activities, or be the core work of your organisation. We want to encourage the following changes to communities as a result of our funding:
- people having better chances in life, including being able to get better access to training and development to improve their life skills
- strong communities, with more active citizens, working together to tackle their problems
- improved rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to access and enjoy
- healthier and more active people and communities.
You can apply to Reaching Communities if you are a registered charity; a voluntary or community group; a statutory body, (including schools); a charitable or not-for-profit company; or a social enterprise - a business that is chiefly run for social objectives, whose profits are reinvested in the business rather than going to shareholders and owners.
There are two stages to the application process. The first stage is our outline proposal form. This is a short form that enables us to tell you quickly whether you are eligible to apply to this programme and whether your project is one that our committee might consider funding. We hope that this may save you doing a lot of work unnecessarily. You can download this form from the Reaching Communities pages of the Big Lottery Fund website www.biglotteryfund.org.uk
Big Lottery Fund - The People's Millions
The People’s Millions is back for its fifth year in 2009.
The People’s Millions TV contest has launched giving communities a fresh chance to win up to £50,000 in Lottery good cause cash to improve their locality.
This year in ITV Meridian The People’s Millions is offering eight awards of up to £50,000 for projects that will enhance local facilities or help people to enjoy their local area. This is broken down into four awards in the East of the Meridian region and four awards in the West.
The contest is particularly looking for projects that enable local people to get more involved in their community and that are original and imaginative.
You can apply if you are a voluntary or community group, local authority, school, health body or social enterprise.
Later in the year short-listed projects will be showcased on ITV Meridian local news where they will have to convince the public why they deserve the cash. It will then be up to the public to use their vote to decide which groups win the funding.
- Entry packs are available on the People's Millions website:
www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/prog_peoples_millions
Big Lottery Fund - Heroes Return 2
