First Responders Scheme
From June 2005 St. John Ambulance Sussex Neighbourhood First Responders, a team of life-savers trained in giving vital emergency first aid before an ambulance arrive, will be operating from Littlehampton and the surrounding villages.
These
volunteers undertake 12 weeks of intensive first aid training including the
use of defibrillators to treat cardiac conditions.
A national scheme, operating in Sussex at Ashington and in Bexhill, it is managed by St. John Ambulance Sussex in partnership with Sussex Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
Its value was recently highlighted when a baby's life was saved by two NFRs in West Sussex. The next life-savers could you be you. Imagine your personal satisfaction from being part of the life-saving team.
