Publications - Housing Needs Survey
In 2003 Adur Council commissioned DCA Ltd to carry out a comprehensive assessment of housing need across the district, in line with then existing government guidelines. The document and the summary are published here.
In 2005 the Council commissioned an update of the survey in the light of rising house prices, income and employment changes, and other changes. This confirms the serious level of housing need within the district, similar to that of many other surrounding areas.
The findings have been incorporated into the Council's Housing Strategy for 2005-2010 and will have an effect on the Council's development of housing policies, including planning policies under the Local Development Framework. Adur Council will be looking to work closer with neighbouring authorities to develop a more comprehensive housing market assessment over the next year or two, to better evidence its policies.
