If you are in doubt about your tenancy status or your rights regarding rent increase then you might wish to contact Adur District Council's Housing Advice Service.
If you are a private protected tenant and you think your rent is unfairly high, you can ask the rent office to set a fair rent. They have a register of past fair rent decisions for you to inspect.
