Sports development in Adur
The aim of Adur's sports development service is to encourage people to take part in sport by creating opportunities for those not currently participating, and to give those that are, the opportunity to achieve their personal ambitions.
The sports development officer works with many different partners towards these aims. The partners include local schools, governing bodies, leisure centres, Sport England, other local authorities and various funding bodies. Working with these partners allows us to maximise the resources that are available to us.
The main areas of the sports development services work can be booked down in the following way
Information
Help, advise and guidance is available on club development issues such as coach education and recruitment of new members. Advice can also be provided on funding applications and facility development. We also have access to the Sussex Disability Sports Database, which is the most comprehensive guide to disability sport in Sussex.

Delivery of Initiatives
Ensuring that Adur is involved in, and benefits from, a variety of national, regional, and county-wide initiatives by co-ordinating them in Adur.
Representing Adur through sport
By ensuring that Adur is represented in initiatives such as the B.A.A. Gatwick Sussex Youth Games and Sport England's 'Active Sports' partnership.
