Organisations
The
British Council of Disabled People (BCODP) www.bcodp.org.uk was
set up by disabled people in 1981 to promote our full equality and participation
within society. They are an umbrella organisation that represents some 136
disabled people's groups (April 1999) at national level. These groups, controlled
by disabled people, are mostly local Coalitions working on local issues.
