Fishersgate to turn gold this spring
Ref : 06/106 : Date : 13-11-2006
Fishersgate will turn gold next spring when a host of golden daffodils flutter and dance in the breeze. As part of Adur Council's 'Spruce it up' campaign to make the district cleaner, greener, safer about 4,000 daffodil bulbs are being planted with help from the local community next week.
Children from Fishersgate school will join Adur Council's staff to plant bulbs at Fishersgate recreation ground on Wednesday. More bulbs will be planted with local residents on the recreation ground on Sunday from 2pm - 4pm. Grass verges and containers in the area will also be planted up.
Adur councillor Jim Funnell, who is joining local residents on Sunday, said: "It's nice to see the children getting involved with local community projects and we hope to see lots of local people on Sunday."
