Council gets injunction for nuisance neighbour
Ref : 06/107 : Date : 13-11-2006
Nuisance neighbour, Ian Roddie, who was living at Peveril Drive, Sompting was served with an injunction ordered by Worthing County Court banning him from causing any more distress to neighbours.
Adur Council took out the injunction because his behaviour was causing problems. He had been abusive and aggressive to neighbours when under the influence of alcohol.
The injunction will last for one year and has the power of arrest. Mr Roddie is banned from behaving in a way likely to cause nuisance, annoyance, harassment, intimidation, alarm or distress to people living in the area near Peveril Drive.
This is the first time Adur Council have taken out an anti social behaviour injunction. The government is encouraging more councils to take this course of action to deal with anti social behaviour when it relates to someone living in council housing.
