Great new skate park opens in Southwick
Ref : 07/084 : Date : 04-09-2007
Southwick’s skaters and BMX riders can’t wait to ride the ramps and grinds on the new skate park and BMX track when it opens this week (6/9/2007). The new track at Southwick recreation ground is twice the size of the old one and will be twice the fun.
The Indoor Bowles club, also at the recreation ground, have helped Adur Council achieve this great skate park with their financial support. Enthusiasts of all ages have worked with the council to make sure that the new facility is what they want.
Adur parks manager, Clive Bramble said: “The local BMX youngsters have worked with Gravity to design and produce a site that will meet their requirements. We have all learnt that dreams can come true when you all work together and listen to each other.”
The project to give Southwick’s extreme sports enthusiasts a new facility started at the beginning of this year when people were asked to look at designs from five companies. Gravity Engineering where chosen and planning permission was given in the spring.
