Christmas food and drink festival - Celebrate Great Food, Drink and have Fun

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December 2007

Shoreham marketThe Shoreham Christmas Food & Drink Festival attracts many hundreds of visitors and is one of the most successful in the area.

This year on Saturday 9th December from 9am to 4pm and Sunday 9th December 10am to 4pm in St Mary's Road and East Street. On Saturday there will be over 80 producers including those from the very successful monthly Farmers Market, as well as regional producers promoting and sampling a wide range of quality festive food and drink. Arts, Crafts, Gifts, Connect2 and Charity fundraising stalls will also be part of the event

There will be live festive music provided by 'Shenanigan' Irish Folk Band and 'The Priory St Stardusters' 30s & 40s Swing Jazz Group. Street Entertainment is planned and their may even be a glimpse of Father Christmas. 'Kidsrome' will be providing a live Nativity scene, with sheep, donkey and other animals.

The Sompting Tipteers will be performing their internationally renowned, street theatre extravaganza 'St George & the Turkish Knight' from 1pm to 2pm.

On Sunday 9th December from 10am to 4pm Brunomarts French and Continental Market will be in town with stallholders selling a wide range of produce and products. Buy from a delicious variety of olives, cider and wine, which can be sampled before you buy; And let's not forget the wonderful strings of onions, shallots and garlic! Other delicious products include Merguez sausages and sandwiches, Soupe de poisson and cassoulet and for the sweeter tooth there is a variety including honey, Belgium chocolates, confectionery, and crepes with Grand Marnier! Also on sale are household wares such as French African Art, traditional dolls, earthenware, Leather Goods and crafts including hand woven baskets, glass, candlesticks and ornaments - the choice is yours or just soak up the convivial French atmosphere and practice your French with our friendly stallholders!

The Christmas Food & Drink Festival gives an excellent opportunity for visitors to taste and buy some of the excellent offerings that will be available as well as an opportunity to visit the many excellent shops, restaurant and pubs the town offers.
