Chance to air views about Adur's economic future
Ref : 08/092 : Date : 28-10-2008
People are invited to air their views at a special economic regeneration forum organised by Adur District Council. Councillors are keen to get the views of businesses and residents of Adur.
The forum is being held at The Shoreham Centre on Monday 17th November 2008 from 6.45pm. It will last until about 9pm and refreshments will be provided. If you would like to attend please contact Sarah Garbutt on 01903 221109 to book your place.
During the forum there will be presentations from Adur District Council, West Sussex County Council and SEEDA on their long term vision for the area. Attendees will then take part in an interactive workshop where they will give their views on key themes that have been highlighted in previous consultations on the Local Development Framework.
These themes will be:
- Skills, training and labour force
- Transport
- Other infrastructure
- Sites and premises
- Major opportunity sites
- Areas of deprivation
Jim Funnell, Cabinet member for Regeneration said, “We are interested in gathering the views of businesses and residents alike as these views are extremely important in informing the long term strategy for Adur’s economy. This forum will help to ensure that we provide the right types of jobs in the right places over the next twenty years.”
The opinions collated during the forum will be debated by members at their full Council meeting on Thursday 11th December 2008 which is held in the Council Chamber at Adur Civic Centre. This meeting is open for the public to come and listen.
