Give a gift for life (Pass Plus Press Release)
Ref : 08/104 : Date : 11-12-2008
What
do you buy the newly qualified driver in your life? A copy of the
Highway Code?
Driving gloves?
Or something that will benefit them for the
rest of their driving career?
A staggering one in five newly qualified drivers are involved in a collision during their first year out on the roads, and most of this is down to their inexperience. While the only way to gain experience is ‘to gain experience’, there is something that you can do to keep them safe - buy them Pass Plus!
Delivered as a short road-based learning course and supported by a free theory workshop, the Pass Plus scheme is a recognised way to help newly qualified drivers enhance their skills on the road and so remain safer.
The practical side of the course will cover driving :
- On motorways (which will not have been covered in pre-test driving lessons)
- In town
- On dual carriageways
- On country roads
- At night
- And in all weathers
The free theory workshop will look at defensive driving, the causes of accidents, drinking and driving as well as the causes and effects of speeding. As a short two-hour classroom session, it cements all of the driver’s learning on the road and gives them a context for safer driving.
Not only will your gift of Pass Plus keep your newly qualified driver safer on the roads, but you’ll help them to lower their insurance premiums (which can be cripplingly high for new drivers) - in fact, some insurers offer a discount of up to 30% on the price of a premium!
Plus you’ll get cash back as well. Once drivers have completed both the practical and theory sessions, you can claim £60 cash back, thanks to sponsorship by the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership (so long as the driver is resident in Sussex). All that you need to do is complete a simple form and send a copy of the driver’s Pass Plus practical and theory completion certificate and the money will wing its way to your pocket!
So, your newly qualified driver receives an enhanced skill set and you get £60 cash back. With those incentives, can you really afford not to buy Pass Plus this year?
