Adur community grants available
Ref : 09/105 : Date : 08-12-2009
Community groups, charities and organisations can apply now for a share of the £60,000 the Adur Council community grant scheme.
The council recognises that during this economic recession finding funding for projects may be difficult and has arranged a drop-in funding workshop at the Community Centre in Pond Road, Shoreham on 11th January 2010 from 10am to 4pm.
Many other organisations have grant schemes and this event aims to encourage Adur’s community groups to find out how they can get the funding they need.
Adur’s community well-being team will be joined by:
- Adur and Worthing Social Care Health and Wellbeing Grants
- Big Lottery Awards for All and Reaching Communities Grants
- Sussex Community Foundation grants.
The community grant scheme gives organisations and groups a chance to get new projects off the ground or help them improve existing projects. The money can’t be spent on running costs.
The council is keen to encourage projects which help areas of the district seen as deprived or that would help people during the recession. Grants of up to £10,000 are available to develop one-year projects.
Closing date for applications to Adur Council’s community grant scheme is 31st January 2010. To get an application either download an application from our website or contact the wellbeing team on 01273 263311.
