Be safe as you enjoy yourself this party season

Ref : 09/112 : Date : 18-12-2009

Think safe, drink safeThe Adur and Worthing Safer Communities Partnership want people to have a happy and safe Christmas this year.

This party season pubs and clubs in Worthing will have packs to give away promoting the think safe, drink safe message. The packs contain biscuits to absorb alcohol and line the stomach, lollipops to sober up with and water to keep hydrated thanks to the safer communities partnership team.

Think safe, drink safe posters will also be on display in the pubs as clubs as part of the campaign.

Adur and Worthing Safer Communities Partnership Chairman, Peter Latham, said: “Christmas and New Year are a great time to enjoy yourself and have fun and we hope people do so safely and responsibly - remember think safe, drink safe.”

From Adur & Worthing Neighbourhood Policing Team, Inspector Allan Lowe, said: “This initiative aims to raise awareness of safety issues around excessive alcohol consumption. Strong police enforcement is vitally important but so are other creative ways of dealing with excessive alcohol use.
