Free insulation scheme for Adur homes
Ref : 10/021 : Date : 24-02-2010
Adur's homes can get toasty thanks to a new free insulation scheme.
The ‘Warm Homes Project’ scheme, being offered by Adur District Council in partnership with leading insulation installer eaga Insulation, will give free cavity wall and loft insulation to homes in the district. It is being funded by the West Sussex Partnership.
To be eligible for this scheme, applicants must:
- Have a net household income of less than £18,000, AND
- Have at least one dependant child under 16 years old, OR
- Be over 60 years old, OR
- Be pregnant, OR
- Be disabled
If the criteria above are not met but the applicant gets a means-tested benefit, they could also qualify for 100 per cent grant-funded home insulation. Those who are not entitled to free insulation can still take advantage of subsidised prices of just £149 for cavity wall insulation, and from £149 for loft insulation.
Up to £265 a year can be saved on heating bills by getting this insulation, and CO2 emissions can also be reduced.
Keith Dollemore, Adur District Council Cabinet Member for Clean and Green Environment, said: “The funding from this scheme is on a first come first serve basis, so make sure you do not miss out on making your home warmer as well as more environmentally friendly."
Phone eaga Insulation to arrange your free no obligation home survey on freephone 0800 4081441 (quoting ref: West Sussex).
