Planning appeals
Applicants who have had their planning applications refused can appeal to the Secretary of State within six months to have their application reconsidered by a independent planning inspector. Appeals can also be lodged against conditions imposed on planning permissions and if an application remains undecided after eight weeks.
To find out how to make an appeal and how the procedure works, or about current appeals, please contact Planning Services.
There are three alternative ways of dealing with planning appeals :
- written representations
- an informal hearing
- or a public inquiry
