Making an on-line planning application
We
encourage you to submit your applications on-line using the Planning Portal
(the UK Government's online planning and building regulations service) wherever
possible.
The Portal enables you to :
- identify the correct form and to complete the planning application form on-line
- make your payment and attach your drawings
- buy site maps on-line, and
- calculate the planning fee using the on-line fee calculator
If you would rather send your application by post, you can use the Planning Portal to create it on-line, then print it out and send it to us.
Please contact Planning Services if you are unclear on which forms to use.
- Open the Planning Portal website to make an on-line planning application (www.planningportal.gov.uk/england/public/)

Making an non-on-line planning application using the National Standard Application Form (1APP)
If
you are unable or prefer not to use the Planning Portal to submit your application
on-line (above), you can download the 1APP paper planning application forms
and notes by using the link below. These forms are not interactive and
you will need to print them out in order to fill them in. They can then be
posted to us together with drawings and other appropriate documents.
Go to the paper forms to download.

The Environment Agency's guide for developers is designed to give practical advice on the environmental issues that may affect the site and provides some examples of sites where good practice has already been applied. Some of the topics covered in the guide include, managing the risk of flooding, using water wisely, wildlife and green space, managing waste and land affected by contamination.
