Planning applications - Viewing Planning Applications

Adur & Worthing Councils logoYou can now use our new Adur & Worthing Planning Online system to view planning applications and their associated plans and documents. (This replaced the Adur Planning Online system from April 2011).

Adur & Worthing Planning Online (Public Access) allows you to :

  • View details, plans and documents of all planning applications being considered by Adur and Worthing Councils
  • Comment on applications using an on-line form
  • Monitor the progress of an application
  • Search a constantly updated list of planning applications received each week
  • View planning history from June 1990

You can search applications in a variety of ways and can use an integrated map to help locate properties and applications.

Use Adur & Worthing Planning Online (Public Access)

This service is available every day from 6.00am to Midnight. It is not available 24/7 because we need to make backups of this important data which requires the system to be offline at night although we plan to change this in the next few months.

Please note :

  • The on-line planning history contained within 'Public Access' may not be complete and must not be used as a substitute for carrying out any form of Land Charge search.
  • No responsibility can be taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history information obtained from 'Public Access'.
  • Similarly, the information contained within 'Public Access' does not constitute in any way a formal notification of a planning decision.

South Down National Park Planning :

  • South Downs National Park Authority logoFrom 1st April 2011, Adur District Council will be processing planning applications submitted within the area of the South Downs National Park that fall within Adur, under the terms of an agency agreement with the South Downs National Park Authority.

Not on-line?
Alternatively you can view paper plans :

Important notes about the Public Access Planning Application Information System :

  • Limitations :
    1. The service continues to be developed, however at the present time no constraint information is available on-line.
    2. The on-line planning history contained within the site at present is incomplete and must not be used as a substitute for carrying out a formal ‘Land Charge Search’. No responsibility will be taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history information obtained from ‘Public Access’. Similarly the information contained within Public Access does not constitute in any way a formal notification of a planning decision, and as such any actions taken as a result of information displayed on the site are undertaken entirely at the viewer’s own risk.
  • Copyright Notice :
Plans, drawing and material submitted to the Council are protected by the Copyright Acts (Section 47, 1988 Act). You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans.
