Adur District Council’s Local Five Year Play Strategy
Adur District Council has recently implemented a ‘Play Strategy’ as Council Policy. The five year strategy focuses on free play provision for all children aged 0 - 18 years across the district. It particularly aims to provide sufficient, appropriate and accessible facilities to our more needy areas and groups.
The strategy aims to ensure that the free play provision in the district is welcoming, safe, attractive and accessible. Key is the active involvement of local people, including of course children and young people, so that facilities provided directly meet the needs raised by local communities.
The strategy audits the existing play facilities within the district and identifies any gaps that exist. It lists twelve projects to address these gaps.
