Empty Property Strategy 2005-08
Adur recognises the importance of good quality housing in helping to create a safe and sustainable community, and the Empty Property Strategy is an important aspect in complementing the work of the Housing Strategy 2005-10 and the Private Sector Renewal Strategy 2005.
This is Adur DC’s first Empty Property Strategy and confirms our commitment to maximise the number of units of accommodation available in the District. The Strategy outlines the current situation in the District, the work carried out over the past few years in getting empty properties back into use and how the Council proposes to tackle the issue during the next 3 years.
A number of robust targets have been set in the Action Plan and we expect to review progress towards these on an annual basis throughout the lifetime of the Strategy.

Sussex Empty Homes Forum (SEHF) - Strategic Framework Document
The thirteen local authorities that make up East & West Sussex work together through the Sussex Empty Homes Forum to provide a strategic framework for a coordinated approach to empty homes work. The Forum has produced a Strategic Framework Document 2008-11 which aims to complement individual council’s strategies to deal with privately owned empty homes.
