Housing Strategy
Adur is expected to produce a five year Housing Strategy, covering how the Council intends to deal with housing issues in the district. Following acceptance by the Government Office for the South East (GOSE) that it was ‘fit for purpose’ in their terms, the Housing Strategy 2005-10 was published in 2005.
The Housing Strategy dovetails with the Council’s corporate priorities, other Council strategies and priorities and indeed those of other partners and stakeholders, and was the subject of consultation throughout its development. It replaces and updates the previous strategy for the 2002-07 period and it lists the Council’s key housing priorities and how these are intended to be achieved over the plan period.
The Strategy was updated in 2009 after a period of review through the Housing Strategy Review Forum and formal examination by the Council’s Cabinet and Development and Scrutiny Committee. The next review of the Housing Strategy will be an in-depth evaluation of the Council’s strategic approach to housing issues.
