Work experience policy
The council wishes to encourage and promote work experience opportunities to our local community. In particular we will aim our work experience placements at local individuals who are disadvantaged within the community and/or under represented within the workforce.
The council will set up a placement scheme that provides a structured and organised response to requests for work experience, which will lead to a more formal and fairer system for identifying and offering work experience placements.
The council is aware of the importance of the provision of work experience placements as an effective way of developing links with the local community. The work experience placement should be a positive and beneficial experience for both the section/department, and the student involved.
