Adur Canoe Club Open & Fun Day
Sunday 18th May 2008, start from 9:30am until around 1:00pm

Adur Canoe Club logoAdur Canoe Club at the Adur Outdoor Activities Centre,
Brighton Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, BN43 5LT.

FREE but bring a towel and change of clothes as you will get wet and you must be able to swim 25 to 50 meters.

Beginners welcome. Under 18s must be accompanied by responsible parent/carer and to sign them in. (Their activity participation optional!)

Minimum age 12, maximum there isn’t one.

Don’t wear jeans or big trainers for paddling.

Adur Vintage Transport Fayre :
Monday 26th May 2008 - Bank Holiday Monday - event cancelled due to weather
New date Sunday 13th July 2008
(It is not known if the fun fair will attend yet)

Vintage car The annual Adur Vintage Transport Fayre staged by the Adur East Lions Club, will take place in May. As usual it will be held at Buckingham Park, Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham-by-Sea.

There will be the usual fine display of vintage vehicles, including motor cars, motorcycles, buses, military and commercial. In addition, there will be stalls and children's attractions - overall, a great day out for all the family.

Lions Club International logoThe attractions in the main arena this year will be the No Limitz motor cycle group and there be a marching band.

Admission charges : £2.50 for adults, children under 15 free.
All proceeds are donated to charities.

Adur Festival logoThe Adur Festival is celebrating its 21st birthday in 2008 and has developed from a small arts and dance festival into a well-established and recognised annual Arts event in Sussex.

The Festival runs for a fortnight during the first two weeks of June every year and provides opportunities to see and participate in many art forms. It is undoubtedly the highlight of the Arts year in Adur.

Farmers' Market, East Street and St Marys Road
Saturday 14th June 9am to 4pm

On Saturday 9th June the Farmers' Market, will take place in East Street and St Mary's Road  with a focus on fresh local food, drink and produce. The market will have over 80 producers selling a wide range including meat, fish, chicken, honey, bread, cheese, plants, tomatoes, vegetables, cakes, pies, wine, beer, cider as well.

Food and drink fair, Coronation Green
Saturday 14th June 9am to 4pm and
Sunday 15th June 11am to 4pm

The Food and Drink Fair will be in the Festival marquee on Coronation Green High Street and will host local and regional producers together with suppliers promoting and sampling a wide range of quality food and drink. 

On Saturday the Festival Marquee will also host World Oceans Day.

Corvette logoThe Classic Corvette Club are back at Shoreham Airport again.Line up at approximately 7:0pm airside for start at 8:00pm.

A parade of spectacular cars, with a 'full throttle' on the runway.

Spectators are welcome on the viewing area only, the Fly-In restaurant will be closed to the public as this is a Club event, only the bar will be open to the public.

Anyone wanting to see and hear the thrill of these cars, don't miss this event. Don't forget to bring your binoculars!

Lancing Horticultural Society - 70th Anniversary Show

We are holding an extended Summer Show at Boundstone Community College on 12th July from 1pm until 5pm to celebrate our 70 years.

Enjoy our usual displays plus plant sales, Tombola, Refreshments, Jennies Jams - NSPCC, Musical interludes performed by 'Two in Accord'.

Last year over one hundred Land Rovers turned up for their drive.

Christmas bellsSouthwick Square Traders Association are holding their annual Christmas Festival on Saturday 1st December.

There will be a kiddies funfair running all day and Father Christmas will be in the Square's Post Office approx. 2pm. There will be charity fundraising stalls, the Police CCTV van and display & St. John's will also be there both in official capacity & fundraising. There will be some new Christmas illuminations thanks to a donation from Adur District Council. There will be plenty of pre-Christmas bargains and a fun day for everyone.

St Mary de Haura - floodlitThe Chairman of the Council is inviting all Adur residents to a Celebration Service of Carols and Readings.

The service this year is guaranteed to get you in the Christmas mood with carols, festive readings and music (including a special appearance by the St Mary de Haura Handbell ringers celebrating their 30th anniversary this year).

The service will commence at 6:30pm and the Chairman is inviting people to join her for mulled wine and mince pies after the service.
