Blue
box recycling scheme
Adur has operated a Blue box scheme since 1991. Its aim is to collect recyclable materials direct from resident's properties thereby diverting them from landfill sites.
Your household rubbish and the blue box are collected on the same day. To find out which round you will fall into please see our refuse and blue box collection pages.

Note
: From 1st April 2008 the recycling service will be run by Adur & Worthing
Council Services (AWS). The majority of Adur residents will
swap over to the new wheeled bin service in April 2008. However, some residents
of Lancing and Sompting will not swap to the new wheeled bins and will remain
with the current blue box system until 2009 (dates to be finalised).

Note : If you are going onto the new wheeled bin service :
- you will not be able to order new or replacement blue boxes after 14th February 2008, and
- you will not need blue boxes for your recycling once you have your new wheelie bins
