In
January of each year Adur & Worthing Council Services provides collections
for real Christmas trees. - Your unwanted real Christmas trees should be put out for recycling from the 11th January 2010 on your normal refuse collection days - the garden waste is collected weekly and resumes on this date so your real Christmas trees will be collected if put out. If you are not sure when your collection day is then see collection days for domestic recycling and refuse.
- Alternatively, they can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Site at Brighton Road Shoreham-by-Sea. Both options the trees go for composting!
- (Please note : with these new collection arrangements there will not be any Christmas tree recycling compounds at either Buckingham Park or Lancing Manor Leisure Centre).
- If your real Christmas tree still has its roots then plant it out in your garden.
- Please remember to remove all the decorations, baubles, tinsel and twinkly lights from your Christmas tree before putting it out for collection!
- If you have an artificial tree then please package it away carefully
and save it for re-use next Christmas along with all your decorations, tinsel
and lights.
